So I disappeared for a few days earlier on in the week (Monday – Thursday) for a bit of a holiday down to Berry. Photos? Of course.

So I was away from the 16th until the 26th on the yearly holiday down at Lake Conjola. The perfect opportunity to put the new camera to the test.
Unfortunately we had some problems with our boat. (I believe it’s called lack of use and neglect from its owner) However, that didn’t stop those that wanted to wakeboard from wakeboarding and getting up to mischief on the water.

So the midnight-9am shifts are finally finished and things start to return to normal for me.
It was time for a bit of a break from everything and away from everything we went! My family as well as another family went away for the weekend (Saturday through Monday, though Friday for some of the lucky ones) down to a “farm” down in Berry which is 115km south of Sydney.
It isn’t your standard farm, more like a luxury getaway. Take a look at the photos.
Tales from Lake Conjola 2006 I
Initial intentions were to make a few long posts about our holiday to Lake Conjola back in January, however since then, I’ve decided to make a series of what is going to be “tales from the lake” with a focus more on the photos which were taken and a few little stories.
So there’s a lot to do at Lake Conjola, but most people choose wakeboarding. Why? Because it’s fun and duh, it makes you look cool!
Not a day would go past without somebody asking “So when are we going for a ‘board’?”.
You get your stuff ready, get in the boat, drive out of the four knots zone and for the next 10 minutes, argue over who gets to board first. Eventually everyone gives in or somebody just jumps in the water indicating now that they’re in, they go first. Board goes on, rope goes out, and away we go!
For Blake, Dane and Danica, it was their first time riding since last year. All were up and riding first go.
Paul and Mark on the other hand, did get a bit of practice in during the year and were ready to show off some of their stuff. They couldn’t be shown up by those who hadn’t ridden in a year.

But from where you ask? From our yearly vacation to Lake Conjola (Lake Conjola 2005 #1, #2, #3). A great holiday, opportunity to catch some well missed sun and generally have a great time.
Of course, I have a whole bunch of photos to throw up to my Flickr account and a couple of stories to go with them, however that will happen sometime Wednesday or Thursday (Internet is capped to 64kbps).
Still catching up too – over the week, 1,758 emails were sent to @mybboard.com, and 400 to @surfionline.com. I also have to catch up on what’s been happening. Places like Neowin, Overclockers Australia, Digg, Del.icio.us, and Windows Live really help with that.
