Stargate SG1: Unending

After an amazing 10 year run, Stargate SG1 has sadly essentially came to an end in quite possibly the best possible finalé episode.

This is a TV series I’ll miss. Every week I hung out waiting for this show.

    I’m glad I’m not the only one who will really miss the show. I was also rather unhappy to loose the channel showing the world premier of Unending just two weeks before it aired. I’ve had to grab the episode from someone else now and will watch it at the weekend.

    On the plus side, there are movies and another series of Atlantis to look forward to, but I’m going to miss SG1.

    Damn, I hadn’t thought of it that way but I’m in the same boat. I recently turned 20 so must have been 10 back when the show started.

    It’s just a shame. It was a great series. At least they are going to be wraping up the Ori story line via direct to DVD movie and coming out with another DVD after that.

    What are you guys on about? There’s still 10 episodes left! The 2nd half of Season 10 hasn’t been aired yet. At least, not in the U.S. Considering that it’s produced in Canada by an American company, I’m gonna be pissed if you tell me that every-freakin-body else has already seen the last 10 eps!

    It’s already aired in the UK - Sky One always buy the rights to air it and then air it in one huge block - unlike SCI-FI who when they air it split it up over the Christmas break then throw in a nice big 4 month break on top of that too.

    So MM would have watched it on TV (Unless he doesn’t have Sky One?) and the rest of us would have obtained it through “other channels.”

    I watched episodes 11-18 of SG1 and Atlantis on Sky One, then we lost our access to the channel and I got the final two episodes of each series from a friend.

    Both the final episode of SG1 and the series finale of Atlantis were excellent by the way. :)

    hey there,

    Like some of us above, stargate was half of my life too.
    When I heard the news that the show was going to be cancelled I was in shock.
    But all good things come to an end, thats life….(even tough it sucks sometimes)

    But hey lets not be a pessimist, we still have stargate Atlantis (its not the same, but at least we have something) :-)

    Well it was a great show, i think i missed the whole last mabye two series, but atlantis from what i saw was pretty good too, think i will save up for some boxsets!

    The Stargate’s were my favorite shows! I mean my Tv never changed channels unless wrestling came on… I would request times off that Stargate would be on, and if there was a marathon I would try to get home as soon as possible. What kills me the most is that right before the last half of season 10 aired I lost my cable…

    Stargate SG1 was the greatest series, on pr with Star Trek. The latest characters, Tealc, Carter, Jackson, Mitchell, the english woman, even the Asgard, and the rest, had an excellent complement of personalities, much more so than the earlier mix off characters and actors who played them!

    Also, the final episode was very dissapointing. I didn’t like the Asgard situation at all, it just didn’t wash, maybe if they somehow linked to the destiny of the Ori, then yes, the writers could have justified their decision towards them in the final episode.

    Also, having been bestowed with a goody bag, some of the Asgard tech. could’t have been downloaded and carried in person? I think so, and the morphing of SG1, far too laboured, a good overall end, but it could have been soooo much better, and also, I think that to cut a program as popuplar as this, someone is really making a rash decision, it BETTER return, or I will contact all EBE’s I know to rectify the situation. …If anyone knows of any EBE’s please let me now where I can find one to start the process of going back in time, and making the decision makers continue the show for another 10 years.

    As for Stargate Atlantis, I hope I am not alone in saying that the props look very dated compared to SG1 Sfx, its like watching Star Trek Enterprise, rather than generations! Also, the charater interaction is very wooden, I hope the wraith can do something to their on screen lines and intercation
