I converted my entire website over to 1.5. It's not that hard, and it's worth the upgrade. Something I found that I didn't like, you can't include php functions in the $pages because it doesn't support the codex I believe. I'm not really sure, so I'm still having to run a smaller php script to handle my pages.

Yeah, a quieter system is a lot better than a loud one. About the Office2k3, I believe he was also trying to install the Windows version of it

"It turns out the Mini uses a weird kind of display connector on the back that requires a special adapter if you want to plug it into a PC monitor. We used a 15” Compaq VGA display."

I laughed at that so hard. The Mini actually contains a DVI output, the newer digital version of the analog D-SUB (VGA) output. All newer video cards and monitors these day support the DVI interface as it is a better quality picture. Not to mention the idiots could not work out the Mini includes a DVI - D-SUB converter!

"The Mini boots up into a stripped-down operating system which Apple calls OS X, similar to the stripped-down WindowsCE OS found on many handhelds."

Hahahaha! Stripped down?! Like WindowsCE?! You've got to be kidding me. OSX sets the standard (imo) for many things in operating system design and functionality.

"But since its sleek look comes at the expense of the parallel port"
Jesus, he really is living in the past. Parallel printers went out years ago to be replaced by the UNIVERSAL serial bus.

Pfft, its a load of shizzle.

saralk,

I don't have time to read that complete article, but I agree with you kind of think it is hilarious. May be I'm just really weird, but isn't it better to have a really quiet system? (as he described as being bad because of the inability to tell whether it is working :P)

Hey, I want to be a beta tester! :D

Actually, there's not much you have to do to make your template work in 1.5. And, with a switch() in page.php you can use PHP and MySQL in specific pages - I think the var is $pagename, or $page.

that link is pretty lame, a lot of arguments are not very well founded, for example he said that he tried to install his copy of Office 2003 on the mac and it didnt work, did he by any chance try and run a windows version? :/
